Significant results in the framework of scientific and technical programs were achieved during the past five years. Thus, compared with the previous five-year period, the volume of production increased more than twice, up to 10.7 billion USD. This was reported at the press conference dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science by Alexander Shumilin, the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, on January 27. According to him, the number of assimilated innovations also increased significantly. If almost 8,000 innovations were adopted in 2006-2010, almost 9,500 innovations were adopted by the end of 2011-2015.

Thus, the rock-handler BelAZ-75180 with a carrying capacity of 180 tons was created in the field of machine building. It corresponds to the level of the best foreign analogues, while at the same time its height, width, and turning radius are less. It has an increased power density, and its price is 1.5-1.8 times lower than the price of its competitors. 3 such cars were released in 2015. The Holstein dairy cattle population of domestic selection (960 thousand heads) was created in the agricultural sector. The average yield of milk exceeds the yield of the black-motley population of Belarus by 506 kg. In addition, a process control system of milk production operating on the principle of "just-in time" is developed. You can select the design and the manufacture of the system of aortic  stenographer for endoprosthesis of the thoracic aorta aneurysms during the operations with an artificial circulation in the field of medicine.  

The technology “Intercard 3 tele” enabling to organize the transmission of the information on the cardiac work of the patients to the consultative center for the automated diagnosis and the formation of ECG conclusion was developed in the field of IT-technologies. There is a laser optics-immersion system for the formation of micro-structures and macro-structures in the field of optics and electronics. It has no analogues in the world.

It should be noted that 17 scientific-technical programs focused on the development of products using the technologies and industries related to the 5th and 6th technological ways were formed in the period 2016-2020.

By the way, a domestic drug Fludarabel (the drug of the first-line therapy for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia), a prototype of the electric passenger bus, aircraft sensor video monitors, unmanned aircraft systems, etc. were made in the framework of the scientific-technical program.

In addition, much of the work is done for the development of innovation infrastructure. So, 4 new entities, including the Science and Technology Park (Polesie Technology Park under Polesie State University in Pinsk) and 3 centers of technology transfer, such as the Transfer Center of Medical and Pharmaceutical Technologies of the EE "Vitebsk State Medical University ", the RUE "Grodno Center of Scientific-Technical and Business Information” and the RUE "Scientific-Analytical Center of Information, Innovation and Technology Transfer" in Mogilev were registered in 2016.

In addition, the innovative infrastructure entity status is assigned to the Belarusian Innovative Foundation. Thus, at present there is a functioning network of innovation infrastructure entities, including 10 scientific and technological parks, 7 technology transfer centers, as well as the Belarusian Innovation Foundation implementing the functions of a venture capital organization. It is expected to open another five subjects of innovation infrastructure by 2020.

‘It is planned to improve the mechanisms to support innovation infrastructure entities with the purpose of the improvement of the efficiency of their functioning as platforms of high-tech and innovative businesses this year,’ Alexander Shumilin said. He also noted that a key challenge in the policy of building of an innovative economy and a knowledge-based economy in the Republic of Belarus is to encourage young people to innovation, including through the participation in the national contest. It should be noted that the developments of the winners of the National Contest of Innovative Projects and the contest "100 Ideas for Belarus" will be presented at the collective stand of the SCST at the National Academy of Sciences within the exhibition of scientific and technological achievements dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science.
