The National Scientific and Technical Library and the Smolensk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after A. Tvardovsky signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of information support for the innovative development of border areas. The document is aimed at developing and deepening the use of the information potential of the parties in the common scientific and technological space to ensure the development of science, technology and education.
The National Scientific and Technical Library (NSTL) is the largest modern information center for science, engineering and technology in Belarus and the only one of the largest libraries with a regional structure. There are regional scientific and technical libraries, operating as branches of the NSTL, in each regional center of the Republic.
Today the total fund is almost 55 million documents, and the annual replenishment exceeds 750 thousand copies. The library is the state depository of literature on technology. It has a single complete patent fund with a sufficient chronological depth that meets all the requirements for holding a patent research. Annually 180 thousand readers and more than 2 thousand enterprises and organizations use library services.
