Seminar on intellectual property issues for universities and research institutes to be held in Minsk

On October 23 and 24, 2019, a regional seminar on “Intellectual Property Policy for Universities and Research Institutes” will be held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Its organizers were the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the National Center for Intellectual Property and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Presentations will be made by WIPO staff, representatives of 12 foreign countries, as well as Belarusian experts.

During the seminar, it is planned to discuss the most pressing issues of development and implementation of intellectual property policy for universities and research institutions, to consider the prerequisites for the effective commercialization of intellectual property and technology transfer.

Within the framework of the seminar, a meeting of the working group on preparing intellectual property policy for higher education institutions and scientific organizations of the republic will also be held.
