Minsk hosted a solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the first contest of social advertising "Intellectual Property: Create, Invent, Implement". The event turned out to be international and diverse: participants from Belarus, Russia, Slovakia, Moldova, Ukraine and Kazakhstan presented their works. The age of the participants varied significantly - the youngest contestant is 7 years old, the oldest - 87. In total, more than 250 applications have been submitted to the competition.

- We are pleased that this competition is being held in Belarus. This once again underlines the serious attitude of our country to intellectual property and copyright issues,” said Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology.

Alexander Shumilin also shared that there is a great growth in export of our country's developments.

- Last year, Belarus exported various patents and licenses for more than 60 million. This year we plan to reach a figure of no less than 80 million. Among others, we export developments of the Polotsk Technical University in the field of oil processing, as well as in the field of engineering, optics, lasers, etc.

The competition was organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the state institution “National Center for Intellectual Property” with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization.
