Belarus has earned $125 million from the export of intellectual property only for 2020. These are mainly patents in the field of refining, petrochemistry, mechanical engineering and optics. IT developers also contribute, reports «MIR 24».

Registering copyrights for a software product in the country began not so long ago. The state, problems and trends of intellectual property development were discussed at a conference in Minsk. It was held in Belarus for the first time.

«Already for the five-year period, the state program of innovative development includes a whole section on intellectual property. It is very important and necessary to protect the ownership of knowledge, new developments, this becomes a priority for us. Any scientific development should probably begin with a patent search», said Alexander Subbotin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

About 50 organizations took part in the conference. Among the speakers are representatives of Russia, Belarus and the EAEU structures.
