Belarus and Cuba going to implement joint project in the field of biomedicine

The SI “Institute of Microbiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” and BIO Cuba Farma are going to develop microbial preparations to protect economically important vegetable crops from diseases. This was announced by Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, at a meeting with Gerardo Suarez Alvarez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Belarus.

The joint project is expected to be implemented within the protocol of the first meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Cuban Commission for Cooperation in Science and Technology. According to the results of the implementation of this Belarusian-Cuban project, it is proposed to obtain highly active strains of bacteria with a wide range of antagonistic action against phytopathogenic microflora, as well as biological preparations for protecting vegetable crops from diseases of various etiologies. In addition, the parties are also considering the possibility of implementing joint projects in the field of medical technology and pharmacy.
