Belarus and Cuba are going to activate scientific and technical cooperation and implement several projects in the priority areas of the bilateral cooperation, including in the field of biotechnologies, medicine, pharmacy and medical technologies. This was discussed during the meeting of Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, with Gerardo Suarez Alvarez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Belarus, in connection with the upcoming completion of his diplomatic mission.
The sides noted the enormous potential in the expansion of the mutually beneficial scientific, technical and innovative cooperation, as well as the prospects for implementing certain projects, including the development of microbial preparations to protect economically important vegetable crops from diseases within the meeting. The possibility of holding a regular meeting of the joint Belarusian-Cuban commission on cooperation in science and technology in Minsk was also discussed. In addition, the SCST is going to organize a collective section of scientific and technical developments at the National Exposition of the Republic of Belarus at FIHAV International Havana Fair.
