Belarus and Slovakia are going to activate the collaboration in science, technology and innovation, including in the field of energy, agro-industrial technologies, medicine and pharmacy, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies, as well as nuclear technologies. These and other prospects of the Belarusian-Slovakian interaction were discussed during the meeting of Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, and Olga Nakhtmanova, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, today. Besides, the parties also discussed the issues of the creation of a joint commission on cooperation in the field of science and technology, the conditions for holding a competition of joint scientific and technical projects for 2018 - 2019 and the interaction within the European Union's science programs, including the EU's Horizon 2020 program. It should be noted that Belarusian scientists and researchers implement six projects with the participation of the organizations from Slovakia (according to the database of international programs and projects of the SI "BelISA"), including four ones within Horizon 2020 Framework Program on Science and Innovations of the EU.
