Belarus and Slovakia signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in science and technology. The document was signed by Andrei Kobyakov and Robert Fitso, the heads of the governments of the two countries. According to the document, the parties are going to develop scientific and technical cooperation on advanced technologies, including ICT, in the following priority areas: energy; agro-industrial technologies; industrial and construction technologies and production; medicine and medical technology, pharmacy; chemical technologies, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies; new materials; nuclear technologies; water use technologies; environmental protection; food industry and protection of biodiversity. In addition, the parties are going to carry out joint scientific and technical projects, cooperate in the exchange of scientific and technical information, scientists, researchers and specialists, as well as to carry out research and development of mutual interest.
It should be noted that Belarusian scientists and researchers carry out six projects with the participation of the organizations from Slovakia (according to the database of international programs and projects of the PI "BelISA"), including four ones within Horizon 2020 Framework Program on Science and Innovations of the EU.
