According to Anatoly Siltchenko, Vice Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, the centers for the support of science and technology are proposed to be set up in Belarus. He said this during the Business Ideas Forum, BelTA learnt. ‘It is proposed to establish the centers for the support of science and technology, in particular in the Brest region. They could be branches of scientific and technological parks or the National Center for Technology Transfer, which enables to use all international databases on patents,’ Anatoly Siltchenko said. He noted that the task of the Forum of Business Ideas is to identify the problems that arise in the process of implementing innovative products and the commercialization of innovative developments. ‘It is important for us to understand what difficulties are encountered and what we should concentrate efforts on to overcome them. We will discuss what services and what kind of assistance the SCST can provide. One of them is a patent information search,’ the Vice Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology added. According to him, now the work of the SCST is aimed to the reduction of the cost of patent rates. ‘We know this problem, the draft resolution is now being worked out,’ Anatoly Siltchenko added. The forum of business ideas is included in the program of the Belarusian Industrial Forum. Its organizers are the State Committee on Science and Technology and the Unitary Enterprise "Expoforum".
