More than 150 people participate in forum of Silk Road Association of Science and Technology Parks

More than 150 people from 12 countries participate in the events of the 2nd  Forum of Silk Road Association of Science and Technology Parks, High and New Technologies Zones, which is being held in Minsk today.  Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus, welcomed the guests and participants of the forum. He said that the globalization processes taking place in the world are transforming the areas and tendencies of the development of national economies. The sustainable innovative development of individual states is ensured through the expansion and deepening of international integration processes based on mutually beneficial partnerships in various areas of the economy in these conditions. One of the examples of such an integration is the Chinese project "One Belt - One Way". ‘The involvement of Belarus in this project will have a significant impact on increasing the investment attractiveness of our country's economy, the formation of new industries, scientific and technical and innovation centers and transport and logistics routes,’ said Alexander Shumilin. At the same time, the infrastructure of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation with Chinese provinces in Belarus has already been established, and it is being effectively developed. For example, the Belarusian Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the Provinces of China, the Sino-Belarus Innovation Science and Technology Center of the Lansi Entrepreneurship Park, the Belarusian-Chinese Technological Park in Changchun, Velikiy Kamenh China-Belarus Industrial Park and Silk Road Association of High and New Zones Technologies. In the near future, the Center for Innovative Cooperation "Polytechnic-Yanchenh" is expected to be established.

‘Currently, the SCST together with “China Merchants Capital” and the JSC “Industrial Park Development Company" is working on the creation of a joint Sino-Belarus venture fund, which is expected to be completed this summer. We invite the representatives of the innovative infrastructure entities from the countries of the economic belt of Silk Road to establish closer interaction with Belarusian organizations for the implementation of joint mutually beneficial projects,’ Alexander Shumilin said.
