The State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus with the participation of the Belarusian Innovative Foundation, the Ministry of Education, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the community association “Belarusian Republican Youth Union” and other interested parties holds the 8th National Contest of Innovative Projects in two nominations: “Best Innovative Project” and “Best Youth Innovative Project”.
The contest is held in order to stimulate the implementation of promising innovative projects, assistance in the search for investment support for innovative projects and commercialization of research and development results. Prospective innovative projects with a detailed implementation strategy (commercialization) and the projects corresponding to priority areas of scientific and technical activities in the Republic of Belarus are considered within the contest.
Legal entities and individuals may be participants of the contest. The participants of the contest choose themselves the nomination their innovative project can be referred to. Only the individuals aged up to 35 years may participate in “Best Youth Innovative Project”.
The contest includes:
- The submission of the applications and the preliminary selection of projects (including the assessing and selection of projects among the winners of the 100 Ideas for Belarus National Youth Project) by September 1, 2017;
- the expertise of innovative projects, by November 1, 2017;
- the determination of winners and prize takers, December of 2017.
A training workshop is scheduled to be held in October 2017 with the involvement of leading Belarusian specialists in venture activities and business-planning with the purpose of the preparation of the contestants for the consideration and defense of innovative projects. Besides the traditional workshop, there will be 1-day-long intensive training for the preparation for the presentation of the project in front of the contest board and potential investors this year.
The contest board will determine the winners and prize-takers of the contest in accordance with the results of the consideration and defense of innovative projects. There is one winner and five prize-takers in each nomination; two of them are runners-up and three third-place winners.
The winners and prize-takers of the contest are awarded diplomas and money prizes:
60 first-class tariff rates for the first place(1860 rubles);
40 first-class tariff rates for the second place (1240 rubles);
20 first-class tariff rates for the third place (620 rubles).
The contest board selects the projects for further commercialization of their results among the winners and prize-takers of the contest. The projects selected for further commercialization of their results will receive a certificate to the amount of 400 tariff rates each (12.400 rubles).

In order to participate in the contest, it’s necessary to register yourself on the website of the contest http://konkurs.bif.ac.by, to fill in the documentary forms established by organizers (the application, the passport and the business plan of the innovative project) and to send the set of contest documentation in print to the Belarusian Innovative Foundation (31 A Khoruzhey str., room 403, postcode 220002).

8 Steps for Successful Participation in the National Contest of Innovation Projects
Step 1. Register on the contest website.
Step 2. Submit an application by filling in the proposed electronic Application and Passport forms of the innovative project.
Step 3. Develop a business plan for an innovative project.
Step 4. Attach the Business plan of the innovative project in .docx or .pdf format to the electronic application.
Step 5. Print the set of documents: the Application, the Passport and the Business plan of the innovation project.
Step 6. Sign the Passport of the Innovative Project and the title page of the Business Plan.
Step 7. Deliver the set of the competitive documents in print to the Belarusian Innovation Foundation personally (room 408) or send it to: 31 A Khoruzhey str., room 403, postcode 220002.
The deadline for submitting documents is September 1, 2017!
Step 8. Take part in the free training workshop (October 2017).
