Science turns into business at the Polytechnic technological park of BNTU. This platform was created specifically to ensure that ideas and technologies born at the departments and laboratories grew to the production, commercialization and scaling. A number of enterprises and well-known brands have already been created here: from Polymedtech, which medical products are used by our cardiosurgeons and orthopedists and traumatologists in everyday practice to the machine embroidery center Fainy.by. The other day the structure of the technological park has been replenished with an international innovation center, which was opened by many distinguished guests, including Alexander Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology. Such interest for the topic is not accidental.
The rate was made not only for a large-scale production and projects, but also for the development of small and medium-sized innovative entrepreneurship in the state program of innovative development of the country. ‘We want to increase the contribution of this sector. We have talented youth. We need to create today an infrastructure where young innovators could turn their ideas into a prototype and start a business. The second area is an international cooperation. It is impossible to make money on science and innovations if we count only on the Belarusian market. We need to join the international chains,’ these words of Alexander Shumilin confirm the importance of the appearance of an international center on the basis of Polytechnic. ‘By the way, this technological park is one of the oldest in the country. In November it will turn 25 years old. The new site will enable to cooperate more effectively with Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China and other countries and increase the export of scientific and technical products. By the way, for 2011 - 2016 the sum of international contracts of Polytechnic was 6.200.000 USD. There is one more aspect. Last year, with the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, an agreement was reached to create a business incubator of innovative projects at Velikiy Kamenh Industrial Park. It is assumed, that start-ups will be born on the basis of Polytechnic, which further the Belarusian-Chinese park will patronize it.
