Belarus and Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of understanding in the field of intellectual property

The National Center of Intellectual Property and the National Institute of Intellectual Property of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of understanding today. The document was signed by the heads of the two organizations, Vladimir Ryabovolov and Erbol Ospanov.

The Memorandum of understanding provides for closer cooperation in the field of intellectual property, including the exchange of information and patent documentation, training of specialists and interaction through the Technology and Innovation Support Centers.

The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) ensures the protection of rights to intellectual property objects, carries out the functions of a patent authority defined by law and is subordinate to the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus.

The National Institute of Intellectual Property (RSE «NIIS») was established in accordance with the decree of the Government of Kazakhstan and is the successor of the national patent office. The Institute is subordinate to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
