In the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the Period up to 2030, special attention is paid to the involvement of young scientists and specialists in joint work on scientific, technical and innovative projects. This was announced today at a meeting of the Interstate Council for Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation by the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin. According to him, internships are provided for young people using the capabilities of the leading scientific organizations of the Commonwealth and competitions for grants to support scientific research and development in high-tech industries, training within the framework of Youth Scientific Schools.

«The events of recent years, including those related to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, have clearly enough demonstrated to us that without science, technology and innovation, it is impossible to achieve a leading position in the economy and respond in a timely manner to global challenges. Therefore, in the new program of innovative cooperation of the CIS member states, we pay close attention to interstate scientific, technical and innovative cooperation, including with the participation of our young scientists. Young people are the most talented and most receptive to innovation part of society, which generates new iconic ideas and then successfully commercializes them in the real sector of the economy», said Alexander Shumilin.

The comprehensive action plan for the implementation of the program also provides for the development of promising joint innovative projects within the CIS, the search for investors, and joint work on their commercialization with the attraction of venture capital investments.

One of the issues on the agenda of today's meeting was the discussion of the draft Concept of scientific, technical and technological cooperation of the CIS member states. The main goal of this document is to ensure the entry of new high-tech products to the domestic and foreign markets of the Commonwealth states, to increase the export of high-tech products, to intensify the development of scientific, scientific, technical and technological spheres, taking into account global trends.

The 28th meeting of the Interstate Council for Cooperation in Scientific, Technical and Innovation Spheres is being held by videoconference in the CIS Executive Committee under the leadership of the Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology Alexander Shumilin. Representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth, as well as the International Association of Academies of Sciences participate in its work.
